MANDALAY

Mandalay boasts a great number of world famous attractions. It is an interesting and exciting place to visit, both by day and by night. Every part of the day has it's special charms and places you have to be:

 - See the washing of the golden Mahamuni Buddha at 4.00 a.m.
 - Watch the sun set behind the teakwood Amarapura bridge.
 - Climb the stairs of the old capital of Sagaing and marvel at the vast array of pagodas and monasteries.
 - Take the early morning boat up the Irrawady to visit the massive, unfinished pagoda at Mingun and see the
   world's largest (uncracked) bell.
 - Visit the Kuthodaw pagoda to see the world's biggest book; 729 marble pages housed in individual pagodas..

Mandalay is the ideal base for visiting most other parts of Burma.
